James’s Big Thing: When AI Gives You Cats, Comics and “Chat”

Each week on AI Haven’t a Clue, James rocks up with his “big thing.” Sometimes it’s groundbreaking, sometimes it’s bizarre. This week? Picture an avalanche of fake cats and a DIY comic factory.

Attack of the AI Cats
James has fallen down a rabbit hole called thesecatsdonotexist.com. One click and you get 50 new cats that never actually lived, all conjured by an algorithm. Refresh again, and boom, more cats. Some fluffy, some strange, some with the dead-eyed stare of a cat who knows too much.
TikTok is apparently obsessed with them and now James is too. If this is what AI was invented for, mission accomplished.
Starring James in His Own Comic
The second obsession is AI Comic Factory. Feed it a prompt, pick an art style—Tintin, Marvel, whatever - and out pops a full comic. James tested it by putting himself and George into a story. The result? A surreal but “magnificent” comic book where he finally gets to be the hero he always knew he was.
Is it the future of publishing? Maybe not. Is it hilarious? Absolutely.
Forget ChatGPT, It’s Just “Chat” Now
James also made a shocking cultural discovery: apparently the kids no longer say ChatGPT. They just say “Chat.” As in:
“I asked Chat to dress me in this outfit.”
“Chat, no cap.”
Whether this is genuine youth slang or just James overhearing interns, we can’t say. But he’s convinced it’s the beginning of a linguistic revolution.
The Fun Side of AI
Beneath the silliness is a point worth noting. AI doesn’t have to be scary. Sometimes it’s not about deepfakes or lawsuits, it’s about goofing around with pretend cats and watching yourself become a comic-book superhero.
As James puts it, AI isn’t just about “serious tech.” It’s about play.
